South Hills is proud to announce its affiliation with the First Tee of Greater Baltimore. The first golf course in the Hanover-area to offer the First Tee golf training program to youth golfers, we believe this partnership will have a great impact.
“We are excited to have the First Tee program at South Hills,” said GM Rob Ehrhart. “This will really help our kids to learn the game of golf while having fun. We look forward to seeing lots of kids out here this summer!”
The First Tee is an international program serving thousands of kids worldwide. South Hills is affiliated with the Greater Baltimore chapter, driving a character education program aimed at impacting youth through the game of golf. The First Tee Greater Baltimore Chapter facilities are all over the Baltimore-area and now here in Hanover, PA.
Programming is geared towards educating students on the First Tee Nine Core Values (Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy and Judgement ) and Nine Healthy Habits (Energy, Play, Safety, Vision, Mind, Family, Friends, School, Community) all through the game of golf. The program has seen youth grow both personally and socially, because of the First Tee curriculum. The main First Tee goal is to provide our youth with the tools to reach their personal goals and become positive role models in society.
South Hills will kick off the partnership with a First Tee Family Fun Night on May 21 from 5:30 to 7:30. The evening will feature First Tee coaches sharing info about the Summer Clinics and playing golf games as well as dinner sponsored by OSS Health.
